What is Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC)?

Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) was established under the 9th Malaysia Plan (2005 – 2010) as part of the overall strategies in preparedness of effective management of disasters, outbreaks, crises and emergencies (DOCE) related to health. CPRC is placed under the Surveillance Section of the Disease Control Division, Ministry of Health Malaysia. It is located at level 6, Block E10, Complex E, Federal Government Administrative Centre, Putrajaya and operates daily from 8.00am until 5.00pm. After 5.00pm there will be officers on call. CPRC operates in Passive Surveillance mode daily for DOCE. In the event of a DOCE of significance and upon advice from the Director of Disease Control, Deputy Director General of Health (Public Health) or Director-General of Health, an Operation Room will be open in the CPRC to monitor the identified DOCE in Active Surveillance Mode. A daily report specific to the DOCE will be sent to all the relevant stakeholders within the MOH. The opening of Operation Room in the CPRC is based on the criteria as stipulated in its guideline. Hotline : 03 – 8881 0200.
