STATUS TERKINI KES DISAHKAN COVID-19 YANG TELAH PULIH

Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) ingin memaklumkan bahawa terdapat 110 kes yang telah pulih dan dibenarkan discaj pada hari ini. Ini menjadikan jumlah kumulatif kes yang telah pulih sepenuhnya dari COVID-19 dan telah discaj daripada wad adalah sebanyak 5,223 kes (77.5 peratus daripada jumlah keseluruhan kes).

STATUS TERKINI KES COVID-19 DI MALAYSIA

Sehingga 12 Mei 2020 pukul 12:00 tengah hari, terdapat 16 kes, baharu yang telah dilaporkan, di mana sembilan (9) kes adalah di kalangan bukan warganegara Malaysia. Ini merupakan kes harian terendah yang pernah dicatatkan sejak kebelakangan ini. Ingin dimaklumkan juga, bahawa daripada 16 kes baharu yang dilaporkan hari ini, terdapat tiga (3) kes import dan 13 kes penularan tempatan.

Oleh itu, jumlah kumulatif kes positif COVID-19 di Malaysia adalah sebanyak 6,742 kes, manakala jumlah kes aktif dengan kebolehjangkitan COVID-19 adalah 1,410 kes.

Sehingga kini, seramai 16 kes positif COVID-19 sedang dirawat di Unit Rawatan Rapi (ICU). Daripada jumlah tersebut, tiga (3) kes memerlukan bantuan pernafasan.

Daripada maklumat terkini yang dilaporkan ke Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) Kebangsaan, dimaklumkan bahawa tiada kes kematian berkaitan COVID-19 setakat ini. Justeru, jumlah kumulatif kes kematian COVID-19 di Malaysia kekal sebanyak 109 kes (1.62 peratus daripada jumlah keseluruhan kes).

HARI JURURAWAT SEDUNIA, 12 MEI 2020

Sempena Hari Jururawat Sedunia pada hari ini iaitu, 12 Mei 2020, pihak KKM ingin mengucapkan ribuan terima kasih kepada semua jururawat di Malaysia.

Sambutan tahun ini bertemakan “A Voice to Lead: Nursing The World To Health”, sememangnya bertepatan bagi menghargai sumbangan dan pengorbanan semua jururawat yang sentiasa cekal dan tabah menghadapi cabaran penularan wabak COVID-19 di Malaysia. Anda adalah wira yang tidak didendang, dan KKM sentiasa menghargai jasa dan bakti anda semua.

AKTIVITI SURVELAN BAGI PEMANTAUAN PENULARAN JANGKITAN COVID-19 DI KALANGAN MASYARAKAT

Aktiviti survelan bertindak sebagai sistem amaran awal (early warning) dan pengesanan awal (early detection) bagi jangkitan COVID-19 di Malaysia.

Aktiviti-aktiviti survelan ini merangkumi:

1. Survelan klinikal iaitu pengesanan dan persampelan kes-kes Influenza Like Illness (ILI) di lokasi sentinel (iaitu Klinik Kesihatan KKM) seluruh negara dan kes-kes Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) di semua hospital KKM.

Setakat minggu epid ke-18, sebanyak 9,010 sampel telah diambil daripada pesakit kes ILI / SARI. Daripada jumlah keseluruhan tersebut, sebanyak 81 sampel disahkan positif COVID-19 (iaitu 0.9 peratus):

• Kes ILI: 14 kes positif COVID-19 daripada 1,594 sampel (0.88 peratus)
• Kes SARI: 67 kes positif COVID-19 daripada 7,416 sampel (0.9 peratus)

Secara keseluruhannya, terdapat penurunan kes positif COVID-19 yang dikesan melalui SARI. Jika dibandingkan, pada minggu epid ke-13, kadar positif adalah sebanyak 8.7 peratus (iaitu 25 kes dikesan daripada 288 sampel SARI). Manakala, pada minggu epid ke-18 pula, kadar positif adalah 0.13 peratus (iaitu satu (1) kes dikesan daripada 772 sampel SARI).

Ini menunjukkan pengesanan kes SARI yang serius dan sederhana serius di kalangan pesakit COVID-19 adalah semakin berkurangan.

• Saringan COVID-19 bagi anggota kesihatan KKM sehingga 12 Mei 2020, di mana sebanyak 11,470 sampel telah diambil. Seramai 65 anggota KKM telah dikesan positif COVID-19.
• Saringan COVID-19 ke atas semua pesakit sebelum menjalani pembedahan kecemasan dan separa kecemasan di hospital KKM. Sehingga 12 Mei 2020, terdapat tujuh (7) kes yang dikesan positif COVID-19 daripada 8,528 jumlah pesakit yang disaring (iaitu 0.08 peratus).

KKM juga menjalankan analisa survelan pasif di mana ia merangkumi notifikasi yang diterima di Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) Kebangsaan bagi kes-kes yang telah dikesan sebagai Person Under Investigations (PUI) daripada fasiliti KKM dan swasta. Setakat ini terdapat 95 kes positif dikesan daripada 30,155 ujian yang dijalankan di makmal-makmal swasta ini (iaitu 0.32 peratus).

Aktiviti survelan di Negara kita telah dipergiat dengan proaktif namun, dan banyak ujian makmal telah dijalankan. Meskipun begitu, kadar positif yang dikesan melalui aktiviti survelan adalah menurun dan kekal rendah buat masa ini. Walaubagaimanapun, pihak KKM menyeru supaya masyarakat tidak leka dengan tren penurunan ini. Sekali lagi, KKM ingin menekankan bahawa kepatuhan orang ramai kepada Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan Bersyarat, serta kelaziman dan norma baharu adalah amat penting dalam menentukan kadar kes positif COVID-19 di Malaysia.

Aktiviti survelan ini akan diteruskan untuk mencapai objektif sebagai sistem amaran awal (early warning) serta dipertingkatkan lagi dari semasa ke semasa dengan pertambahan lokasi sentinel ILI bagi mengesan COVID-19 di kalangan masyarakat.

NASIHAT KESIHATAN BERKAITAN COVID-19

Susulan itu, Rakyat Malaysia perlu memainkan peranan masing-masing dalam memerangi wabak COVID-19 dengan:

• Elakkan keluar dari rumah, kecuali untuk urusan-urusan yang penting sahaja;
• Mengamalkan jarak sosial selamat (social distancing) sekurang-kurangnya 1 meter dari orang lain;
• Elakkan amalan kunjung-mengunjung, termasuk pada musim perayaan untuk memastikan kesihatan dan keselamatan masyarakat. Lindungilah warga emas dan juga bayi atau kanak-kanak kita;
• Mengamalkan tahap kebersihan yang optimum pada setiap masa, seperti kerap mencuci tangan dengan menggunakan air dan sabun atau handsanitizer;
• Digalakkan memakai alat penutup hidung dan mulut (face mask) di tempat awam atau tempat orang ramai berkumpul.

KKM akan terus memantau perkembangan kejadian jangkitan di dalam negara, dan juga luar negara melalui maklumat yang diperolehi daripada pihak Pertubuhan Kesihatan Sedunia (WHO). Orang ramai akan sentiasa dimaklumkan sebarang perkembangan terkini mengenainya. Begitu juga, KKM akan memastikan langkah pencegahan dan kawalan yang sewajarnya adalah dilaksanakan secara berterusan.

UPDATES ON THE CORONAVIRUS DISEASE 2019 (COVID-19)

SITUATION IN MALAYSIA

Current Status of Confirmed COVID-19 Cases Who Have Recovered

12 May 2020 – The Ministry of Health (MOH) would like to inform that 110 cases have fully recovered and discharged well today. Cumulatively, 5,223 confirmed COVID-19 cases have fully recovered (77.5% of total cumulative cases).

Current Situation of COVID-19 in Malaysia

12 May 2020, 12 pm – A total of 16 additional confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported to the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) MOH today, of which nine (9) cases are amongst non-Malaysians. This is the lowest number of additional cases reported of late. Of these 16 cases, 3 are imported cases and 13 cases are due to local transmission.

Cumulatively there are now 6,742 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Malaysia. Therefore, there are currently 1,410 active and infective COVID-19 cases.

Currently, 16 confirmed COVID-19 cases are receiving treatment in intensive care units (ICU), and of these, three (3) cases are on ventilation support.

Fortunately, no additional COVID-19 death was reported to the National CPRC MOH today. Cumulatively, there remains 109 COVID-19 deaths in Malaysia (1.62% of total cumulative cases).

International Nurses Day, 12 May 2020

In conjunction with the International Nurses Day today, 12 May 2020, MOH would like to thank all nurses in Malaysia.

This year’s theme, “A Voice to Lead: Nursing The World To Health”, is in honour of the contributions and sacrifices of all dedicated and steadfast nurses in facing the challenges of the COVID-19 infection in Malaysia. You are the unsung heroes and MOH is always grateful for your service and dedication.

Current Status of Surveillance Activities on the Transmission of COVID-19 Infection in the Community

Surveillance activities act as an early warning and early detection system for COVID-19 infection in Malaysia.

The surveillance activities include:

1. Clinical surveillance i.e. detection and sampling of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) patients in sentinel locations (MOH health clinics) nationwide and Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) patients in all MOH hospitals.

As of the 18^th epidemiology week, a total of 9,010 samples were taken from ILI and SARI patients. Of these, 81 samples were positive for COVID-19 (0.9%):

• ILI patients: 14 COVID-19 positive cases out of 1,594 samples (0.88%)
• SARI patients: 67 COVID-19 positive cases out of 7,416 samples (0.9%)

Overall, there was a decrease in the COVID-19 positive cases detected through SARI. During the 13^th epidemiology week, the positive rate was 8.7% (25 cases detected from 288 SARI samples). Meanwhile, during the 18^th epidemiology week, the positive rate was 0.13% (1 case detected from 772 SARI samples).

This suggests that the detection of COVID-19 cases amongst serious and moderately serious SARI patients is decreasing.

• COVID-19 screening amongst MOH healthcare workers (HCWs). As of 12 May 2020, a total of 11,470 samples were taken, of which 65 MOH HCWs were found positive for COVID-19.
• COVID-19 screening of all patients before undergoing emergency and semi-emergency surgery at MOH hospitals. As of 12 May 2020, 7 cases were found positive for COVID-19 out of 8,528 patients screened (0.08%).

MOH also conducts analysis of passive surveillance, that includes notifications received at the National CPRC MOH for cases detected from Person Under Investigation (PUI) from both MOH and private healthcare facilities. To date, 95 positive cases have been detected from 30,155 tests conducted in the private laboratories (0.32%).

The surveillance activities in the country have been proactively strengthened, however the positive rates detected through these surveillance activities are low. Nevertheless, MOH urges the public not to be complacent with this declining trend. Again, MOH would like to emphasise that the public’s compliance to the new normal and norms is very important in determining the number of COVID-19 positive cases in Malaysia.

The surveillance activities will continue so as to achieve its intended purpose as an early warning system and will be further strengthened over time with the addition of new ILI sentinel sites to detect COVID-19 in the community.

Health Advisory on COVID-19

Therefore, Malaysians will have to continue to play their part in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic by:

1. Avoid leaving the house, except for important matters
2. Practice safe social distancing of at least 1 metre away from others
3. Avoid the practice of visiting houses, including during the festive seasons, to protect the health and safety of the community, especially older adults, infants and children
4. Maintain optimal levels of hygiene at all times, such as frequent hand washing with water and soap or with hand sanitisers
5. It is recommended to wear face masks in public areas or crowded places

MOH will continue to monitor the development of the COVID-19 situation, both in the country as well as internationally, based on available information from the World Health Organization (WHO). The public will be continuously updated on the latest information. In addition, MOH will ensure that appropriate preventive and control measures are continuously implemented.
