Dukacita dimaklumkan bahawa terdapat pertambahan satu (1) lagi kes kematian berkaitan COVID-19.

PENINGKATAN KES KEMALANGAN JALAN RAYA MEMBIMBANGKAN KEMENTERIAN KESIHATAN MALAYSIA

Screenshot 2020-06-10 at 6.19.14 PM

Kemalangan mendatangkan implikasi serius seperti kehilangan nyawa, kecacatan yang kekal seumur hidup atau yang menyebabkan kehilangan anggota tubuh badan dan hilang fungsi badan. Selain itu, ianya juga mengakibatkan impak negatif kepada perkhidmatan di hospital, misalnya;

  • Peningkatan kadar kematian dan morbiditi;
  • Peningkatan penggunaan fasiliti kesihatan untuk merawat kes kemalangan jalan raya, misalnya kesesakan di Jabatan Kecemasan dan Kemalangan, peningkatan kes pembedahan kecemasan dan separa kecemasan yang boleh menyebabkan kadar penggunaan katil dan Unit Rawatan Rapi (ICU) turut meningkat;

WhatsApp Image 2020-06-06 at 11.32.00

    • Elak bersalaman / bersentuhan;
    • Amalkan etika batuk dan bersin;
    • Dapatkan rawatan segera jika bergejala;
    • Duduk di rumah dan elakkan kunjung-mengunjung;
    • Lakukan aktiviti disinfeksi dan pembersihan di kawasan yang kerap disentuh.

  • S:Syarat-syarat seperti yang ditetapkan di bawah PKPB;
  • O:Orang yang berisiko tinggi seperti kanak-kanak, bayi, warga emas dan orang kurang upaya (OKU) perlu dilindungi, individu tidak sihat dan bergejala dikehendaki segera menjalani pemeriksaan kesihatan;

Sekian, terima kasih.

CONFIRM CASE BY STATE baru 10Jun-01

Current Situation of COVID-19 in Malaysia

10 June 2020, 12 pm – A total of two (2) additional confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported to the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) MOH today, the lowest number reported since the start of the enforcement of the Movement Control Order. Cumulatively there are now 8,338 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Malaysia. Therefore, there are currently 1,206 active and infective COVID-19 cases. They have all been isolated and given treatment.

Of the two (2) additional cases reported today, one (1) is an imported case who was infected overseas. Fortunately, no local transmission case among Malaysians was reported today. The one (1) case of local transmission reported is a non-Malaysian reported in Kuching, Sarawak, detected through close contact screening of a confirmed COVID-19 case (Case 8,303).

Currently, five (5) confirmed COVID-19 cases are receiving treatment in intensive care units (ICU), and no patient is on ventilation support.

Ministry of Health is Concerned of the Increase in Road Traffic Accidents

MOH has found that the number of injuries and fatalities due to road traffic accidents have increased recently.

Based on statistics from the Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department, Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), the number of road traffic accidents have steadily increased over the course of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) compared to the numbers during the enforcement of the Movement Control Order (MCO).

Screenshot 2020-06-10 at 6.19.14 PM

For example, the number of road traffic accidents during First MCO (from 8 March 2020 to 31 March 31, 2020; a period of 14 days) was 5,498 cases with 58 deaths. This means that the daily accident rate was 392.7 accidents/day. By comparison, this figure rose sharply to 738 accidents/ day when the CMCO came into force on 4 May 2020. PDRM data showed that from 5 May 2020 to 12 May 2020 (a period of 8 days), the total number of road traffic accidents was 5,904 cases with 68 deaths. From 13 May 2020 to 9 June 2020, a total of 25,251 accidents were recorded with 231 deaths (i.e. 738 accidents/day).

Preliminary statistics on accidents or trauma cases receiving treatment at MOH hospitals have shown a decrease of between 65% to 75% in all states during the MCO period compared to before the start of the MCO. However, there was already a 30% increase over the period of the CMCO as there were more vehicles on the road.

MOH is concerned of this increasing trend, as the number of accidents is expected to increase further with the increasing number of vehicles on the road.

MOH is also concerned about the safety of the public, especially the increasing number of workers commuting to work following the reopening of various economic, social and other sectors.

Road traffic accidents can have serious consequences such as loss of life, lifelong disability or even loss of limbs and loss of function. In addition, it can also have a negative impact on hospital services, for example:

  • Increase in mortality and morbidity rates
  • Increased use of healthcare facilities to treat road traffic accidents, such as congestion of the Emergency Departments, increase in the number of emergency and semi-emergency surgeries, that may subsequently result in increased bed use and the use of ICUs
  • Increased use of blood supply to treat accident victims that typically have serious injuries requiring blood transfusions

MOH advises the public to be careful on the road. Please drive vehicles and ride motorcycles carefully to avoid road traffic accidents. In addition, avoid driving when tired or if not well rested. Accidents can be avoided if we drive more carefully and obey the road traffic laws and regulations. Remember your loved ones.

Health Advisory on COVID-19

MOH urges the cooperation of every individual so that together we can prevent the COVID-19 outbreaks and break the transmission chain of the COVID-19 infection in the country. The recommended actions are:

  • Avoid the 3Cs: Crowded places; Confined spaces; and Close conversations

WhatsApp Image 2020-06-06 at 11.32.00

  • Practice the 3Ws: Wash hands frequently with water and soap; Wearing facemasks are strongly encouraged in public areas or if symptomatic; Warn self and others for the following, in line with MOH’s advisories:
    • Avoid shaking hands or touching others
    • Practice good coughing and sneezing etiquette
    • Seek early treatment if symptomatic
    • Stay at home and avoid from visiting others
    • Regularly clean and disinfect commonly touched surfaces in common areas

In addition to the SOPs, continue to adhere to THiS:

  • T: Terms set under the Recovery Movement Control Order
  • Hi: High-risk groups such as children, infants, older adults and the disabled must be protected, and if unwell with symptoms, to seek early treatment
  • S: Safe social distancing is practiced at all times, of at least 1 metre away from others

MOH will continue to monitor the development of the COVID-19 situation, both in the country as well as internationally, based on available information from the World Health Organization (WHO). The public will be continuously updated on the latest information. In addition, MOH will ensure that appropriate preventive and control measures are continuously implemented.

Thank you.
