STATUS TERKINI KES DISAHKAN COVID-19 YANG TELAH PULIH

Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) ingin memaklumkan bahawa terdapat lapan (8) kes yang telah pulih COVID-19 pada hari ini. Jumlah kumulatif kes yang telah pulih sepenuhnya dari COVID-19 adalah sebanyak 8,817 kes (96.7 peratus daripada jumlah keseluruhan kes).

STATUS TERKINI KES COVID-19 DI MALAYSIA

Sehingga 12 Ogos 2020 pukul 12:00 tengah hari, terdapat 11 kes baharu yang telah dilaporkan. Ini menjadikan jumlah kes positif COVID-19 di Malaysia adalah sebanyak 9,114 kes. Oleh itu, jumlah kes aktif dengan kebolehjangkitan COVID-19 adalah 172 kes. Mereka telah diasingkan dan diberi rawatan.

Ingin dimaklumkan daripada 11 kes baharu yang dilaporkan, lapan (8) kes adalah kes import yang telah mendapat jangkitan di luar negara yang melibatkan tujuh (7) warganegara Malaysia dan satu (1) bukan warganegara. Lapan (8) kes import tersebut adalah dari negara:

• Singapura (3 kes: 2 kes di Johor, 1 kes di Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur);
• Filipina (3 kes di Sabah);
• Australia (1 kes di Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur); dan
• Jepun (1 kes di Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur).

Daripada tiga (3) kes penularan di dalam negara, dua (2) kes adalah di kalangan warganegara Malaysia dan satu (1) kes adalah di kalangan bukan warganegara Malaysia.

Dua (2) kes penularan COVID-19 dalam negara di kalangan warganegara Malaysia adalah kes saringan bergejala di sebuah pusat perubatan di negeri Kedah. Mereka telah dimasukkan ke Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, Kedah. Kedua-dua kes ini tidak berkait rapat antara satu sama lain.

Satu (1) jangkitan dalam negara yang melibatkan bukan warganegara pula adalah saringan tahanan baharu di lokap Balai Polis Tawau, Sabah.

Sehingga kini, terdapat satu (1) kes positif COVID-19 sedang dirawat di Unit Rawatan Rapi (ICU). Tiada kes yang memerlukan bantuan pernafasan.

Adalah dimaklumkan bahawa tiada pertambahan kes kematian berkaitan COVID-19 dilaporkan pada hari ini. Justeru, jumlah kumulatif kes kematian COVID-19 di Malaysia adalah kekal sebanyak 125 kes (1.37 peratus daripada jumlah keseluruhan kes).

BERITA TULAR KES POSITIF DI LEMBAH PANTAI SEDANG DISIASAT

KKM mengambil maklum mesej pesanan ringkas yang tular disebarkan melalui aplikasi Whatsapp dan laman media sosial mengenai kes positif COVID-19 di Lembah Pantai yang melibatkan seorang pelajar dari sebuah sekolah di Seri Pantai. Namun demikian, ingin dimaklumkan bahawa pihak KKM masih sedang menyiasat lanjut kes ini. KKM telah menerima laporan dari sekolah terbabit mengenai satu (1) kes bergejala yang melibatkan seorang pelajar. Susulan itu, siasatan telah dijalankan mengikut protokol KKM, di mana sebarang kes yang dilaporkan ke KKM akan disiasat terlebih dahulu dan tindakan selanjutnya seperti pengesanan kes akan dijalankan jika perlu.

Hasil siasatan mendapati seorang pelajar Tingkatan 5 dari sekolah tersebut telah mengalami gejala muntah dan cirit- birit pada 9 Ogos 2020. Pada 10 Ogos 2020 beliau telah dibawa ke sebuah klinik swasta untuk mendapatkan rawatan dan seterusnya dipindahkan ke pusat perubatan bagi rawatan lanjut di mana beliau telah disaring untuk Demam Denggi dan juga jangkitan COVID-19. Keputusan saringan Demam Denggi didapati positif namun pengesahan ujian COVID-19 sedang dijalankan di makmal bagi memastikan tiada tindak balas silang semasa ujian yang mungkin boleh berlaku memandangkan beliau dijangkiti Demam Denggi.

Sementara menunggu pengesahan ujian makmal tersebut, pihak KKM telah memulakan aktiviti awal pengesanan kes secara aktif (Active Case Detection) iaitu sebagai tindakan proaktif yang biasa dijalankan di lapangan bagi mencegah risiko penularan jangkitan. Setakat ini, seramai 34 orang pelajar dan lapan (8) orang guru dikenalpasti sebagai kontak rapat kepada pelajar tersebut. Daripada jumlah tersebut seramai 28 orang telah disaring dan 14 orang lagi telah diberi arahan untuk hadir ke Klinik Kesihatan untuk persampelan.

Semua individu yang telah disaring ini diberi arahan untuk menjalani Perintah Pengawasan dan Pemerhatian di Rumah (HSO) sebagai langkah pencegahan. Selain itu, proses nyah cemar dan nyah kuman telah dijalankan di lokasi yang telah dikenalpasti. Pemantauan ke atas kes bergejala ini dan semua kontak rapat beliau akan terus dipantau oleh pihak KKM. Situasi semasa akan dimaklumkan dari semasa ke semasa.

KKM ingin menjelaskan kepada masyarakat bahawa kes COVID-19 hanya akan dilaporkan sebagai kes positif COVID-19 selepas ianya diumumkan secara rasmi oleh KKM. Laporan dari mana-mana sumber lain akan dianggap sebagai spekulasi sehingga siasatan dijalankan dan disahkan oleh KKM. Masyarakat diminta untuk menyemak terlebih dahulu kesahihan maklumat yang diterima sebelum mempercayai dan menyebarkan maklumat tersebut.

NASIHAT KESIHATAN BERKAITAN COVID-19

KKM menyeru orang ramai agar terus amalkan nasihat-nasihat yang sering ditekankan oleh KKM sebagai satu kebiasaan baharu dalam kehidupan harian. Antara nasihat-nasihat tersebut adalah seperti berikut:

• Elakkan 3S / 3C :iaitu elakkan kawasan yang sesak (Crowded place), elakkan kawasan yang sempit (Confined space) dan elak sembang atau bertutur dengan jarak yang dekat (Close conversation).

• Amalkan 3W :iaitu kerap mencuci tangan dengan air dan sabun (Wash), memakai alat pelitup muka (facemask) di tempat awam yang telah diwajibkan oleh pihak Majlis Keselamatan Negara (MKN) mulai 1 Ogos 2020 atau jika bergejala (Wear), dan (Warn) iaitu amaran dari KKM yang lebih berkonsep peringatan seperti:
  • Elakkan bersalaman / bersentuhan;
  • Amalkan etika batuk dan bersin;
  • Dapatkan rawatan segera jika bergejala;
  • Duduk di rumah dan elakkan kunjung-mengunjung;
  • Lakukan aktiviti disinfeksi dan pembersihan di kawasan yang kerap disentuh.

Patuhlah kepada S.O.P sebagai normal baharu iaitu:

• S :Syarat-syarat seperti yang ditetapkan di bawah Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan Pemulihan (PKPP);
• O :Orang yang berisiko tinggi seperti kanak-kanak, bayi, warga emas dan orang kurang upaya (OKU) perlu dilindungi, individu tidak sihat dan bergejala dikehendaki segera menjalani pemeriksaan kesihatan;
• P :Penjarakan fizikal (physical distancing) diamalkan pada setiap masa iaitu sekurang-kurangnya 1 meter.

KKM akan terus memantau perkembangan kejadian jangkitan di dalam negara, dan juga luar negara melalui maklumat yang diperolehi daripada pihak Pertubuhan Kesihatan Sedunia (WHO). Orang ramai akan sentiasa dimaklumkan sebarang perkembangan terkini mengenainya. Begitu juga, KKM akan memastikan langkah pencegahan dan kawalan yang sewajarnya adalah dilaksanakan secara berterusan.

SITUATION IN MALAYSIA

Current Status of Confirmed COVID-19 Cases Who Have Recovered

The Ministry of Health (MOH) would like to inform that eight (8) cases have fully recovered and discharged today. Cumulatively, 8,817 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been discharged (96.7% of total cumulative cases).

Current Situation of COVID-19 in Malaysia

12 August 2020, 12 pm – a total of 11 additional confirmed COVID-19 case were reported to the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) MOH today. Cumulatively there are now 9,114 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Malaysia. Therefore, there are currently 172 active and infective COVID-19 cases. They have all been isolated and given treatment.

Of the 11 additional cases reported today, eight (8) are imported cases who were infected overseas, involving seven (7) Malaysians and one (1) non-Malaysian. The eight (8) imported cases were travellers from the following countries:

• Singapore – 3 cases: 2 cases in Johor and 1 case in Kuala Lumpur
• Philippines – 3 cases in Sabah
• Australia – 1 case in Kuala Lumpur
• Japan – 1 case in Kuala Lumpur

Of the three (3) local transmission cases, two (2) cases are among Malaysians and one (1) case is a non-Malaysian.

The two (2) local transmission cases among Malaysians were from symptomatic screening in a medical centre in Kedah. Both cases have been admitted into Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital, Kedah. These cases were not related to each other.

The one (1) non-Malaysian local transmission case was from screening of new detainees at a police station prison in Tawau, Sabah.

Currently, only one (1) confirmed COVID-19 case is receiving treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU), and the patient is not on ventilation support.

No additional COVID-19 death was reported to the National CPRC MOH today. Cumulatively, there remains 125 COVID-19 deaths in Malaysia (1.37% of total cumulative cases).

Viral News of a COVID-19 Case in Lembah Pantai being Investigated

MOH took note of a short message being viralled on the WhatsApp application and social media sites on an alleged COVID-19 case in Lembah Pantai involving a student from a school in Seri Pantai. MOH is currently investigating this alleged case. MOH has received a report from the school concerned about one (1) symptomatic case involving a student. Following this, an investigation was conducted according to the MOH’s protocol, whereby any case reported to the MOH will be investigated first and further action such as active case detection will be carried out if necessary.

Initial investigation found that a Form 5 student from the school had symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea on 9 August 2020. On 10 August 2020, the student was taken to a private clinic for treatment and later transferred to a medical centre for further treatment, where the student was screened for Dengue Fever as well as for COVID-19. The student tested positive for Dengue Fever; however, a confirmatory COVID-19 was done at the laboratory to ensure that there is no cross-positivity during the screening test that may occur with Dengue Fever.

While waiting for the confirmatory laboratory test result, MOH has started early active case detection as a proactive action that is usually carried out in the field to prevent the risk of spread of infection. To date, a total of 34 students and eight (8) teachers have been identified as close contacts to the student. Of these, 28 individuals have been screened and 14 individuals have been instructed to go the health clinic for testing.

All the individuals who have been screened were placed under the Home Surveillance Order (HSO) as a precautionary measure. In addition, decontamination and disinfection have been carried out at the identified locations. MOH will continue to monitor the symptomatic case and all close contacts. The current situation will be updated from time to time.

MOH would like to explain to the public that any COVID-19 case will only be reported as a confirmed COVID-19 case after it is officially announced by MOH. Reports from any other sources will be considered as speculation until investigations are conducted and the case(s) confirmed by MOH. The public is requested to check the validity of the information received before believing and disseminating the information.

Health Advisory on COVID-19

MOH hopes that the public will continue to practice the advisories often emphasised by the MOH as the new normal in daily life. These advisories include:

• Avoid the 3Cs: Avoid Crowded places; Confined spaces; and Close conversations.
• Practice the 3Ws: Wash hands frequently with water and soap; Wearing facemasks are now mandatory in public areas (starting from 1 August 2020 as directed by the National Security Council) or highly recommended if symptomatic; Warn self and others for the following, in line with MOH’s advisories:
  • Avoid shaking hands or touching others
  • Practice good coughing and sneezing etiquette
  • Seek early treatment if symptomatic
  • Stay at home and avoid from visiting others
  • Regularly clean and disinfect commonly touched surfaces in common areas

In addition to the SOPs, continue to adhere to THiS:

• T: Terms set under the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO)
• Hi: High-risk groups such as children, infants, older adults and the disabled must be protected, and if unwell with symptoms, to seek early treatment
• S: Safe physical distancing is practiced at all times, of at least 1 metre away from others

MOH will continue to monitor the development of the COVID-19 situation, both in the country as well as internationally, based on available information from the World Health Organization (WHO). The public will be continuously updated on the latest information. In addition, MOH will ensure that appropriate preventive and control measures are continuously implemented.
