STATUS TERKINI KES DISAHKAN COVID-19 YANG TELAH PULIH

Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) ingin memaklumkan bahawa terdapat 21 kes yang telah pulih COVID-19 pada hari ini. Jumlah kumulatif kes yang telah pulih sepenuhnya dari COVID-19 adalah sebanyak 9,113 kes (97.0 peratus daripada jumlah keseluruhan kes).

STATUS TERKINI KES COVID-19 DI MALAYSIA

Sehingga 5 September 2020 pukul 12:00 tengah hari, terdapat enam (6) kes baharu yang telah dilaporkan. Ini menjadikan jumlah kes positif COVID-19 di Malaysia adalah sebanyak 9,391 kes. Oleh itu, jumlah kes aktif dengan kebolehjangkitan COVID-19 adalah 150 kes. Mereka telah diasingkan dan diberi rawatan.

Ingin dimaklumkan daripada enam (6) kes baharu yang dilaporkan, empat (4) kes adalah kes import yang telah mendapat jangkitan di luar negara yang melibatkan dua (2) warganegara Malaysia dan dua (2) bukan warganegara. Empat (4) kes import tersebut adalah dari negara:

• Pakistan (1 kes di Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur);
• Angola (1 kes di Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur);
• India (1 kes di Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur); dan
• Bangladesh (1 kes di Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur).

Dua (2) kes penularan di dalam negara adalah di kalangan warganegara Malaysia. Perincian kes adalah seperti berikut:

• Kedah: Satu (1) kes daripada Kluster Telaga. Kluster ini akan diperincikan di bawah; dan
• Sabah: Satu (1) kes Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) di Hospital Lahad Datu.

Sehingga kini, terdapat lima (5) kes positif COVID-19 yang sedang dirawat di Unit Rawatan Rapi (ICU), di mana tiga (3) kes memerlukan bantuan pernafasan.

Adalah dimaklumkan bahawa tiada pertambahan kes kematian berkaitan COVID-19 dilaporkan pada hari ini. Justeru, jumlah kumulatif kes kematian COVID-19 di Malaysia adalah kekal sebanyak 128 kes (1.36 peratus daripada jumlah keseluruhan kes).

STATUS TERKINI BAGI KLUSTER TELAGA

Ingin dimaklumkan bahawa terdapat pertambahan satu (1) kes baharu dilaporkan bagi Kluster Telaga di negeri Kedah. Kes ini (Kes ke-9391) merupakan kontak rapat kepada kes indeks (Kes ke-9284) di Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, Kedah. Beliau didapati positif COVID-19 semasa saringan yang dijalankan pada 3 September 2020. Justeru, jumlah kes positif COVID-19 dalam kluster ini adalah sebanyak sembilan (9) kes. Sehingga 5 September 2020 jam 12 tengah hari, seramai 3,458 orang telah disaring dalam kluster ini. Daripada jumlah ini:

• Sembilan (9) kes dikesan positif COVID-19;
• 2,744 individu negatif; dan
• 705 individu masih menunggu keputusan.

Pengesanan kes secara aktif (Active Case Detection) dan saringan kontak rapat telah dijalankan.

VAKSIN COVID-19 DAN PENGIKTIRAFAN SISTEM KESIHATAN MALAYSIA

KKM ingin memaklumkan bahawa pihak Pertubuhan Kesihatan Sedunia (WHO) telah mengadakan satu sesi sidang media pada 4 September 2020. Melalui sesi tersebut, pihak WHO menegaskan bahawa vaksin adalah berkesan dalam membendung penularan penyakit seperti cacar air (smallpox), polio dan sebagainya. Namun begitu, keberkesanan dan keselamatan vaksin adalah faktor penting dalam penggunaan vaksin. Perkara ini tidak boleh diambil ringan dan justeru itu, bagi menjamin faktor-faktor tersebut, vaksin perlu melalui beberapa ujian dan fasa. Sehingga hari ini, masih tiada vaksin COVID-19 yang disahkan berkesan dan selamat oleh pihak WHO.

Pihak WHO turut menjelaskan beberapa langkah pencegahan COVID-19 yang boleh diamalkan oleh setiap individu dalam menghalang jangkitan COVID-19, dan ianya selari dengan nasihat-nasihat yang sering ditekankan oleh pihak KKM.

Dalam sorotan berita WHO pada hari yang sama juga, Kerajaan Malaysia telah diiktiraf mempunyai sistem kesihatan yang kuat dan mempunyai liputan yang sejagat (UHC). Sistem kesihatan di Malaysia juga diiktiraf mempunyai asas-asas yang kukuh dalam menangani wabak COVID-19 ini melalui pengalamannya yang lepas. KKM menghargai pengiktirafan WHO ini dan terus komited dalam memperkukuhkan sistem kesihatan negara bagi menjamin kesejahteraan rakyat dan kemajuan negara.

NASIHAT KESIHATAN BERKAITAN COVID-19

KKM ingin menasihati orang ramai agar terus patuhi saranan serta nasihat-nasihat kesihatan yang sering ditekankan. Jadikanlah nasihat-nasihat ini satu kebiasaan baharu dalam kehidupan harian:

• Elakkan 3S / 3C : iaitu elakkan kawasan yang sesak (Crowded place), elakkan kawasan yang sempit (Confined space) dan elak sembang atau bertutur dengan jarak yang dekat (Close conversation).

• Amalkan 3W : iaitu kerap mencuci tangan dengan air dan sabun (Wash), memakai alat pelitup muka (facemask) di tempat awam yang telah diwajibkan oleh pihak Majlis Keselamatan Negara (MKN) mulai 1 Ogos 2020 atau jika bergejala (Wear), dan (Warn) iaitu amaran dari KKM yang lebih berkonsep peringatan seperti:

• Elakkan bersalaman / bersentuhan termasuk melagakan mana-mana bahagian tubuh badan sebagai menggantikan cara kebiasaan bersalam;
  • Amalkan etika batuk dan bersin;
  • Dapatkan rawatan segera jika bergejala;
  • Duduk di rumah dan elakkan kunjung-mengunjung;
  • Lakukan aktiviti disinfeksi dan pembersihan di kawasan yang kerap disentuh.

Patuhlah kepada S.O.P sebagai normal baharu iaitu:

• S : Syarat-syarat seperti yang ditetapkan di bawah Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan Pemulihan (PKPP);
• O : Orang yang berisiko tinggi seperti kanak-kanak, bayi, warga emas dan orang kurang upaya (OKU) perlu dilindungi, individu tidak sihat dan bergejala dikehendaki segera menjalani pemeriksaan kesihatan;
• P : Penjarakan fizikal (physical distancing) sekurang-kurangnya 1 meter diamalkan pada setiap masa.

KKM akan terus memantau perkembangan kejadian jangkitan di dalam negara, dan juga luar negara melalui maklumat yang diperolehi daripada pihak Pertubuhan Kesihatan Sedunia (WHO). Orang ramai akan sentiasa dimaklumkan sebarang perkembangan terkini mengenainya. Begitu juga, KKM akan memastikan langkah pencegahan dan kawalan yang sewajarnya adalah dilaksanakan secara berterusan.

UPDATES ON THE CORONAVIRUS DISEASE 2019 (COVID-19)

SITUATION IN MALAYSIA

5 September 2020

Current Status of Confirmed COVID-19 Cases Who Have Recovered

The Ministry of Health (MOH) would like to inform that 21 cases have fully recovered and discharged today. Cumulatively, 9,113 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been discharged (97.0% of total cumulative cases).

Current Situation of COVID-19 in Malaysia

5 September 2020, 12 pm – a total of six (6) additional confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported to the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) MOH today. Cumulatively there are now 9,391 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Malaysia. Therefore, there are currently 150 active and infective COVID-19 cases. They have all been isolated and given treatment.

Of the six (6) additional cases reported today, four (4) are imported cases who were infected overseas, involving two (2) Malaysians and two (2) non-Malaysians. They were travellers from the following countries:

• Pakistan – 1 case in Kuala Lumpur
• Angola – 1 case in Kuala Lumpur
• India – 1 case in Kuala Lumpur
• Bangladesh – 1 case in Kuala Lumpur

The two (2) local transmission cases are among Malaysians. The details are as follows:

• Kedah – 1 case: From the Telaga Cluster, as detailed below.
• Sabah – 1 case: From Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) screening in Lahad Datu Hospital.

Currently, five (5) confirmed COVID-19 cases are receiving treatment in the intensive care units (ICUs), with three (3) patients on ventilation support. No additional COVID-19 death was reported to the National CPRC MOH today. Cumulatively, there remains 128 COVID-19 deaths in Malaysia (1.36% of total cumulative cases).

Current Status of the Telaga Cluster

One (1) additional confirmed case is reported today for this cluster in Kedah. This case (Case 9,391) was a close contact to the index case (Case 9,284) in Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital. The case was found to be positive for COVID-19 during screening done on 3 September 2020. Therefore, cumulatively there are now nine (9) confirmed COVID-19 cases in this cluster. As of 5 September 2020, 12 pm, a total of 3,458 individuals have been screened in this cluster. Of these:

• Nine (9) confirmed COVID-19 cases
• 2,744 individuals tested negative
• 705 individuals awaiting results

Active case detection and screening of close contacts is still ongoing.

The COVID-19 Vaccine and Recognition of the Malaysian Healthcare System

MOH would like to inform that the World Health Organization (WHO) has held a press conference on 4 September 2020. During this session, the WHO stressed that vaccines are effective in curbing the spread of diseases such as smallpox, polio and other similar diseases. However, the effectiveness and safety of vaccines are important factors in vaccine use. This matter should not be taken lightly and therefore, to ensure these factors, any potential vaccines need to go through several tests and phases. To date, no COVID-19 vaccine has been certified effective and safe by the WHO.

The WHO also explained some of the COVID-19 prevention measures that can be practiced by every individual in preventing COVID-19 infection, and these are in line with the advisories that are often emphasised by the MOH.

In the WHO news highlight on the same day, the Malaysian Government has been recognised for having a strong healthcare system and providing universal health coverage (UHC). The healthcare system in Malaysia is also recognised to have strong foundations in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic through its past experiences. MOH appreciates the recognition by the WHO and remains committed to strengthening the country’s healthcare system to ensure the well-being of the people and the progress of the country.

Health Advisory on COVID-19

MOH advices the public to continue to follow the recommendations and health advisories that are often emphasised. These advisories must be incorporated as the new normal in our daily life, including:

• Avoid the 3Cs: Avoid Crowded places; Confined spaces; and Close conversations.

• Practice the 3Ws: Wash hands frequently with water and soap; Wearing facemasks is now mandatory in public areas (starting from 1 August 2020 as directed by the National Security Council) or highly recommended if symptomatic; Warn self and others for the following, in line with MOH’s advisories:
  • Avoid shaking hands or touching others, including bumping parts of the body in lieu of shaking hands
  • Practice good coughing and sneezing etiquette
  • Seek early treatment if symptomatic
  • Stay at home and avoid from visiting others
  • Regularly clean and disinfect commonly touched surfaces in common areas

In addition to the SOPs, continue to adhere to THiS as the new normal:

• T: Terms set under the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO)
• Hi: High-risk groups such as children, infants, older adults and the disabled must be protected, and if unwell with symptoms, to seek early treatment
• S: Safe physical distancing is practiced at all times, of at least 1 metre away from others

MOH will continue to monitor the development of the COVID-19 situation, both in the country as well as internationally, based on available information from the World Health Organization (WHO). The public will be continuously updated on the latest information. In addition, MOH will ensure that appropriate preventive and control measures are continuously implemented.
