STATUS TERKINI KES DISAHKAN COVID-19 YANG TELAH PULIH
Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) ingin memaklumkan bahawa pada hari ini, Malaysia mencatatkan bilangan kes pulih COVID-19 sebanyak 579 kes. Ini menjadikan jumlah kumulatif kes yang telah pulih sepenuhnya dari COVID-19 adalah 17,134 kes (64.5 peratus daripada jumlah keseluruhan kes). Pecahan kesyang telah pulih COVID-19 mengikut negeri adalah seperti berikut:
- Sabah (288 kes);
- Selangor (93 kes);
- Pulau Pinang (89 kes);
- Kedah (81 kes);
- Perak (15 kes);
- WP Labuan (5 kes);
- WP Kuala Lumpur & Putrajaya (4 kes);
- Negeri Sembilan (2 kes);
- Melaka (1 kes); dan
- Sarawak (1 kes).
STATUS TERKINI KES COVID-19 DI MALAYSIA
Pada hari ini, bilangan kes baharu di negeri Sabah adalah 533 kes (64.8 peratus) daripada keseluruhan kes dilaporkan hari ini. Jumlah ini menunjukkan penurunan kes sebanyak 356 kes (40 peratus) berbanding jumlah keseluruhan kes yang dilaporkan di negeri Sabah semalam. Ini berikutan jumlah kes baharu yang dicatatkan daripada Penjara Kepayan, Kota Kinabalu telah menurun daripada 434 kes baharu semalam, kepada 67 kes baharu pada hari ini.
Walau bagaimanapun, jumlah ini masih tinggi berbanding negeri-negeri lain. Usaha gigih mengesan lebih banyak kes akan diteruskan di seluruh negeri Sabah yang kini mempunyai 17 daerah merah. Buat masa ini kapasiti di sembilan (9) buah hospital KKM di Sabah adalah 1,219 katil (kadar penggunaan 59 peratus). Manakala, kapasiti di 25 buah Pusat Kuarantin dan Rawatan COVID-19 Berisiko Rendah (PKRC) adalah 4,505 katil (kadar penggunaan 35 peratus).
Negeri-negeri di Lembah Klang pula mencatatkan sebanyak 99 kes (12 peratus dari jumlah keseluruhan kes). Daripada 99 kes baharu, 44 kes (44.4 peratus) adalah daripada kluster-kluster sedia ada dan baharu. Untuk makluman, negeri-negeri ini dan juga negeri Sabah masih di dalam Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan Bersyarat (PKPB).
Sejumlah 162 kes (19.7 peratus dari jumlah keseluruhan) pada hari ini adalah daripada Kluster Seberang Perai, Kluster Penjara Penjara Kepayan dan Kluster Tembok. Kes-kes ini sememangnya terasing di dalam kawasan Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan Diperketatkan (PKPD).
Sebanyak satu (1) kes merupakan pengunjung yang pulang dari negeri Sabah, yang menjadikan jumlah kes dilaporkan mempunyai sejarah perjalanan ke negeri Sabah sejak 20 September 2020 adalah sebanyak 469 kes.
Secara keseluruhannya, sehingga 25 Oktober 2020 pukul 12:00 tengah hari, sebanyak 823 kes baharu telah dilaporkan. Ini menjadikan jumlah kes positif COVID-19 di Malaysia adalah sebanyak 26,565 kes. Oleh itu, jumlah kes aktif dengan kebolehjangkitan COVID-19 adalah 9,202 kes. Mereka telah diasingkan dan diberi rawatan.
Ingin dimaklumkan kesemua 823 kes baharu pada hari ini adalah kes penularan COVID-19 dalam negara. Perincian kes bagi setiap negeri adalah seperti berikut:
- Sabah: 533 kes
- 160 kes daripada kluster-kluster, termasuk 27 kes daripada kluster baharu iaitu Kluster Titir, Kluster Omadal, Kluster Bandaran dan Kluster Jambul;
- 270 kes daripada saringan kontak rapat kes positif COVID-19; dan
- 103 kes daripada lain-lain saringan COVID-19.
- Pulau Pinang: 97 kes
- 96 kes daripada kluster-kluster termasuk dua (2) kes daripada kluster baharu iaitu Kluster Bayan; dan
- Satu (1) kes saringan kontak rapat kes positif COVID-19.
- Selangor: 88 kes
- 39 kes daripada kluster-kluster, termasuk lima (5) kes daripada kluster baharu iaitu Kluster Mentari;
- 28 kes daripada saringan kontak rapat kes positif COVID-19; dan
- 21 kes daripada lain-lain saringan COVID-19.
- Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan: 26 kes
- 22 kes daripada kluster-kluster sedia ada;
- Tiga (3) kes saringan kontak rapat kes positif COVID-19; dan
- Satu (1) kes daripada lain-lain saringan COVID-19.
- Negeri Sembilan: 22 kes
- 13 kesdaripada kluster-kluster, termasuk 11 kes daripada kluster baharu iaitu Kluster Jernih;
- Satu (1) kesdaripada saringan kontak rapat kes positif COVID-19; dan
- Lapan (8) kes daripada lain-lain saringan COVID-19.
- Sarawak: 16 kes
- Tujuh kes daripada kluster-kluster termasuk empat (4) kes daripada kluster baharu iaitu Kluster Seladah; dan
- Sembilan (9) kes daripada lain-lain saringan COVID-19.
- Johor: 15 kes
- 14 kes daripada kluster sedia ada; dan
- Satu (1) kes daripada saringan pulang dari kawasan berisiko tinggi (Sabah).
- Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur: 10 kes
- Lima (5) kes daripada kluster-kluster sedia ada;
- Satu (1) kes saringan kontak rapat kes positif COVID-19; dan
- Empat (4) kes daripada lain-lain saringan COVID-19.
- Terengganu: Tujuh (7) kes daripada kluster baharu iaitu Kluster Makekar.
- Perak: Enam (6) kes
- Lima (5) kes daripada kluster-kluster sedia ada; dan
- Satu (1) kes saringan kontak rapat kes positif COVID-19.
- Kedah: Satu (1) kes daripada kluster sedia ada.
- Kelantan: Satu (1) kes daripada saringan kontak rapat kes positif COVID-19.
- Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya: Satu (1) kes daripada kluster sedia ada.
Sehingga kini, terdapat 99 kes positif COVID-19 yang sedang dirawat di Unit Rawatan Rapi (ICU), di mana 30 kes memerlukan bantuan pernafasan.
Daripada maklumat terkini yang dilaporkan ke Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) Kebangsaan, dukacita dimaklumkan bahawa terdapat pertambahan lapan (8) kes kematian berkaitan COVID-19. Justeru, jumlah kumulatif kes kematian COVID-19 di Malaysia adalah sebanyak 229 kes (0.86 peratus daripada jumlah keseluruhan kes).

SEMBILAN (9) KLUSTER BAHARU DILAPORKAN HARI INI
KKM ingin memaklumkan bahawa terdapat sembilan (9) kluster baharu telah dikenal pasti pada hari ini iaitu;
1) KLUSTER TITIR
Kluster baharu ini melibatkan daerah Keningau di negeri Sabah. Kes indeks bagi kluster ini (iaitu kes ke-20232) telah dikenal pasti positif COVID-19 hasil saringan kendiri pada 18 Oktober 2020 dan telah dimasukkan ke Hospital Keningau.
Sehingga 25 Oktober 2020, 12 tengah hari, sejumlah 23 individu telah disaring dan dikesan positif COVID-19 (12 kes baharu).
2) KLUSTER OMADAL
Kluster baharu ini melibatkan daerah Semporna di negeri Sabah. Kes indeks bagi kluster ini (iaitu kes ke-21073) telah dikenal pasti positif COVID-19 hasil saringan individu bergejala pada 18 Oktober 2020 dan telah dimasukkan ke Pusat Kuarantin PPR Bubul Ria, Semporna. Saringan kontak rapat telah mengenal pasti 20 lagi kes positif COVID-19.
Sehingga 25 Oktober 2020, 12 tengah hari, sejumlah 188 individu telah disaring, di mana:
- 21 kes dikesan positif COVID-19 (9 kes baharu); dan
- 167 individu negatif.
3) KLUSTER BANDARAN
Kluster baharu ini melibatkan daerah Kota Kinabalu di negeri Sabah. Kes indeks bagi kluster ini (iaitu kes ke-18471) telah dikenal pasti positif COVID-19 hasil saringan individu bergejala pada 15 Oktober 2020 dan telah dimasukkan ke Hospital Queen Elizabeth. Saringan kontak rapat telah mengenal pasti 11 lagi kes positif COVID-19.
Sehingga 25 Oktober 2020, 12 tengah hari, sejumlah 41 individu telah disaring, di mana:
- 12 kes dikesan positif COVID-19 (5 kes baharu); dan
- 29 kes dikesan negatif.
4) KLUSTER JAMBUL
Kluster baharu ini melibatkan daerah Sandakan di negeri Sabah. Kes indeks bagi kluster ini (iaitu kes ke-14932) telah dikenal pasti positif COVID-19 hasil saringan individu bergejala pada 9 Oktober 2020 dan telah dimasukkan ke Hospital Duchess of Kent. Saringan kontak rapat telah mengenal pasti tujuh (7) lagi kes positif COVID-19.
Sehingga 25 Oktober 2020, 12 tengah hari, sejumlah 30 individu telah disaring, di mana:
- 8 kes dikesan positif COVID-19 (1 kes baharu);
- 20 individu negatif; dan
- 2 individu masih menunggu keputusan.
5) KLUSTER BAYAN
Kluster baharu ini melibatkan daerah Seberang Perai Utara, Barat Daya dan Timur Laut di negeri Pulau Pinang. Kes indeks bagi kluster ini (iaitu kes ke-22930) telah dikenal pasti positif COVID-19 hasil saringan individu bergejala pada 21 Oktober 2020 dan telah dimasukkan ke Hospital Pulau Pinang. Saringan kontak rapat telah mengenal pasti lima (5) lagi kes positif COVID-19.
Sehingga 25 Oktober 2020, 12 tengah hari, sejumlah 216 individu telah disaring, di mana:
- 6 kes dikesan positif COVID-19 (2 kes baharu);
- 60 individu negatif; dan
- 150 individu masih menunggu keputusan.
6) KLUSTER MENTARI
Kluster baharu ini melibatkan daerah Petaling, Klang dan Gombak di negeri Selangor, daerah Seremban di Negeri Sembilan dan daerah Kepong di Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur. Kes indeks bagi kluster ini (iaitu kes ke-24394) telah dikenal pasti positif COVID-19 hasil saringan individu bergejala pada 22 Oktober 2020 dan telah dimasukkan ke Hospital Sungai Buloh. Saringan kontak rapat telah mengenal pasti 16 lagi kes positif COVID-19.
Sehingga 25 Oktober 2020, 12 tengah hari, sejumlah 93 individu telah disaring, di mana:
- 17 kes dikesan positif COVID-19 (5 kes baharu); dan
- 10 kes dilaporkan negatif; dan
- 66 individu masih menunggu keputusan.
7) KLUSTER JERNIH
Kluster baharu ini melibatkan daerah Seremban di Negeri Sembilan. Kes indeks bagi kluster ini (iaitu kes ke-24435 hingga kes ke-24438) telah dikenal pasti positif COVID-19 hasil saringan sebelum pulang ke negara asal pada 22 Oktober 2020 dan mereka telah dimasukkan ke Hospital Rembau. Saringan kontak rapat telah mengenal pasti 11 lagi kes positif COVID-19.
Sehingga 25 Oktober 2020, 12 tengah hari, sejumlah 76 individu telah disaring, di mana:
- 15 kes dikesan positif COVID-19 (11 kes baharu); dan
- 61 individu masih menunggu keputusan.
8) KLUSTER SELADAH
Kluster baharu ini melibatkan daerah Kuching dan Serian, negeri Sarawak. Kes indeks bagi kluster ini (iaitu kes ke-24448) telah dikenal pasti positif COVID-19 hasil saringan individu bergejala pada 22 Oktober 2020 dan telah dimasukkan ke Hospital Umum Sarawak. Saringan kontak rapat telah mengenal pasti enam (6) lagi kes positif COVID-19.
Sehingga 25 Oktober 2020, 12 tengah hari, sejumlah 18 individu telah disaring, di mana:
- Tujuh (7) kes dikesan positif COVID-19 (4 kes baharu);
- Empat (4) individu dikesan negatif; dan
- Tujuh (7) individu masih menunggu keputusan
9) KLUSTER MAKEKAR
Kluster baharu ini melibatkan daerah Johor Bahru dan Kulai di negeri Johor, daerah Kemaman dan Dungun, Kuala Terengganu dan Marang di negeri Terengganu serta daerah Klang di negeri Selangor. Kes indeks bagi kluster ini (iaitu kes ke-23800) telah dikenal pasti positif COVID-19 hasil saringan di tempat kerja pada 18 Oktober 2020 dan telah dimasukkan ke Hospital Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Berang. Saringan kontak rapat telah mengenal pasti sembilan (9) lagi kes positif COVID-19.
Sehingga 25 Oktober 2020, 12 tengah hari, sejumlah 132 individu telah disaring, di mana:
- 10 kes dikesan positif COVID-19 (8 kes baharu);
- 106 individu dikesan negatif COVID-19; dan
- 16 individu masih menunggu keputusan.
NASIHAT KESIHATAN BERKAITAN COVID-19
KKM ingin menasihati orang ramai agar terus patuhi saranan serta nasihat-nasihat kesihatan yang sering ditekankan. Jadikanlah nasihat-nasihat ini satu kebiasaan baharu dalam kehidupan harian:
- Elakkan 3S / 3C : iaitu elakkan kawasan yang sesak (Crowded place), elakkan kawasan yang sempit (Confined space) dan elak sembang atau bertutur dengan jarak yang dekat (Close conversation).
- Amalkan 3W : iaitu kerap mencuci tangan dengan air dan sabun (Wash), memakai alat pelitup muka (facemask) di tempat awam yang telah diwajibkan oleh pihak Majlis Keselamatan Negara (MKN) mulai 1 Ogos 2020 atau jika bergejala (Wear), dan (Warn) iaitu amaran dari KKM yang lebih berkonsep peringatan seperti:
- Elakkan bersalaman / bersentuhan termasuk melagakan mana-mana bahagian tubuh badan sebagai menggantikan cara kebiasaan bersalam;
- Amalkan etika batuk dan bersin;
- Dapatkan rawatan segera jika bergejala;
- Duduk di rumah dan elakkan kunjung-mengunjung;
- Lakukan aktiviti disinfeksi dan pembersihan di kawasan yang kerap disentuh.
Patuhlah kepada S.O.P sebagai normal baharu iaitu:
- S : Syarat-syarat seperti yang ditetapkan di bawah Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan Pemulihan (PKPP);
- O : Orang yang berisiko tinggi seperti kanak-kanak, bayi, warga emas dan orang kurang upaya (OKU) perlu dilindungi, individu tidak sihat dan bergejala dikehendaki segera menjalani pemeriksaan kesihatan;
- P : Penjarakan fizikal (physical distancing) sekurang-kurangnya 1 meter diamalkan pada setiap masa.
KKM akan terus memantau perkembangan kejadian jangkitan di dalam negara, dan juga luar negara melalui maklumat yang diperolehi daripada pihak Pertubuhan Kesihatan Sedunia (WHO). Orang ramai akan sentiasa dimaklumkan sebarang perkembangan terkini mengenainya. Begitu juga, KKM akan memastikan langkah pencegahan dan kawalan yang sewajarnya adalah dilaksanakan secara berterusan.

UPDATES ON THE CORONAVIRUS DISEASE 2019 (COVID-19)
SITUATION IN MALAYSIA

Current Status of Confirmed COVID-19 Cases Who Have Recovered
The Ministry of Health (MOH) is pleased to inform that today Malaysia reported 579 COVID-19 recovery cases. Therefore, cumulatively, 17,134 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been discharged (64.5% of total cumulative cases). The breakdown of cases that have recovered by state is as follows:
- Sabah (288 cases)
- Selangor (93 cases)
- Pulau Pinang (89 cases)
- Kedah (81 cases)
- Perak (15 cases)
- WP Labuan (5 cases)
- WP Kuala Lumpur & Putrajaya (4 cases)
- Negeri Sembilan (2 cases)
- Melaka (1 case)
- Sarawak (1 case)
Current Situation of COVID-19 in Malaysia
Today, the number of additional cases in Sabah is 533 cases (64.8%) of the total cases reported today. This is a decrease of 356 cases (40%) compared to the total number of cases reported in Sabah yesterday. This is due to the number of additional cases reported from the Kepayan Prison, Kota Kinabalu has decreased from 434 additional cases yesterday, to 67 additional cases today.
However, this number is still high compared to other states. Efforts are continuous to detect more cases throughout Sabah which now has 17 Red districts. Currently the capacity at the nine (9) MOH hospitals in Sabah is 1,219 beds (59% bed occupancy rate). Meanwhile, the capacity at the 25 COVID-19 Quarantine and Low Risk Treatment Centres (PKRC) is 4,505 beds (35% bed occupancy rate).
The states in the Klang Valley reported 99 cases (12% of the total cases). Of the 99 additional cases, 44 cases (44.4%) are from existing and new clusters. These states as well as Sabah have already been placed under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).
A total of 162 cases (19.7% of the total) today are from the Penjara Seberang Perai Cluster, the Penjara Kepayan Cluster and the Tembok Cluster. These cases are isolated within the area of the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).
One (1) case was a returnee from Sabah, making the number of cases reported to have a history of travel to Sabah since 20 September 2020 is 469 cases.
As of 25 October 2020, 12 pm, a total of 823 additional confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported to the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) MOH today. Cumulatively there are 26,565 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Malaysia. Therefore, there are currently 9,202 active and infective COVID-19 cases. They have all been isolated and given treatment.
All 823 additional cases today are local transmission COVID-19 cases. The details by states are as follows:
- Sabah: 533 cases
- 160 cases from existing active clusters, including 27 cases from new clusters i.e. Titir Cluster, Omadal Cluster, Bandaran Cluster and Jambul Cluster.
- 270 cases from screening of close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
- 103 cases from other COVID-19 screenings.
- Pulau Pinang: 97 cases
- 96 cases from existing active clusters, including 2 cases from a new cluster i.e. Bayan Cluster.
- 1 case from screening of close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
- Selangor: 88 cases
- 39 cases from existing active clusters, including 5 cases from a new cluster i.e. Mentari Cluster.
- 28 cases from screening of close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
- 21 cases from other COVID-19 screenings.
- WP Labuan: 26 cases
- 22 cases from existing active clusters.
- 3 cases from screening of close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
- 1 case from other COVID-19 screenings.
- Negeri Sembilan: 22 cases
- 13 cases from existing active clusters, including 11 cases from a new cluster i.e. Jernih Cluster.
- 1 case from screening of close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
- 8 cases from other COVID-19 screenings.
- Sarawak: 16 cases
- 7 cases from existing active clusters, including 4 cases from a new cluster i.e. Seladah Cluster.
- 9 cases from other COVID-19 screenings.
- Johor: 15 cases
- 14 cases from existing active clusters.
- 1 case from screening of returnees from high-risk areas (Sabah).
- Kuala Lumpur: 10 cases
- 5 cases from existing active clusters.
- 1 case from screening of close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
- 4 cases from other COVID-19 screenings.
- Terengganu: 7 cases from the Makekar Cluster, a new cluster.
- Perak: 6 cases
- 5 cases from existing active clusters.
- 1 case from screening of close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
- Kedah: 1 case from an existing active cluster.
- Kelantan: 1 case from screening of close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
- WP Putrajaya: 1 case from an existing active cluster.
Currently, 99 confirmed COVID-19 cases are receiving treatment in the intensive care units (ICUs), with 30 patients on ventilation support.
Regretfully, eight (8) additional COVID-19 deaths were reported to the National CPRC MOH today. Cumulatively, there are now 229 COVID-19 deaths in Malaysia (0.86% of total cumulative cases).

Nine (9) New Clusters Reported Today
MOH would like to inform that there are nine (9) new clusters have been identified today.
The Titir Cluster
This new cluster involves the Keningau district, Sabah. The index case for this cluster (Case 20,232) was detected positive for COVID-19 from self-initiated screening on 18 October 2020 and admitted into Keningau Hospital.
As of 25 October 2020, 12 pm, a total of 23 individuals have been screened and detected positive for COVID-19 (12 additional cases).
The Omadal Cluster
This new cluster involves the Semporna district, Sabah. The index case for this cluster (Case 21,073) was detected positive for COVID-19 from symptomatic screening on 18 October 2020 and admitted into the PPR Bubul Ria Quarantine Centre, Semporna. Screening of close contacts has identified 20 additional confirmed COVID-19 cases.
As of 25 October 2020, 12 pm, a total of 188 individuals have been screened, of which:
- 21 confirmed COVID-19 cases (9 additional cases)
- 167 individuals tested negative
The Bandaran Cluster
This new cluster involves the Kota Kinabalu district, Sabah. The index case for this cluster (Case 18,471) was detected positive for COVID-19 from symptomatic screening on 15 October 2020 and admitted into the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Screening of close contacts has identified 11 additional confirmed COVID-19 cases.
As of 25 October 2020, 12 pm, a total of 41 individuals have been screened, of which:
- 12 confirmed COVID-19 cases (5 additional cases)
- 29 individuals tested negative
The Jambul Cluster
This new cluster involves the Sandakan district, Sabah. The index case for this cluster (Case 14,932) was detected positive for COVID-19 from symptomatic screening on 9 October 2020 and admitted into the Duchess of Kent Hospital. Screening of close contacts has identified seven (7) additional confirmed COVID-19 cases.
As of 25 October 2020, 12 pm, a total of 30 individuals have been screened, of which:
- 8 confirmed COVID-19 cases (1 additional case)
- 20 individuals tested negative
- 2 individuals awaiting results
The Bayan Cluster
This new cluster involves the Seberang Perai Utara, Barat Daya and Timur Laut districts in Pulau Pinang. The index case for this cluster (Case 22,930) was detected positive for COVID-19 from symptomatic screening on 21 October 2020 and admitted into Pulau Pinang Hospital. Screening of close contacts has identified five (5) additional confirmed COVID-19 cases.
As of 25 October 2020, 12 pm, a total of 216 individuals have been screened, of which:
- Six (6) confirmed COVID-19 cases (2 additional cases)
- 60 individuals tested negative
- 150 individuals awaiting result
The Mentari Cluster
This new cluster involves the Petaling, Klang and Gombak districts in Selangor, the Seremban district in Negeri Sembilan and the Kepong district in Kuala Lumpur. The index case for this cluster (Case 24,394) was detected positive for COVID-19 from symptomatic screening on 22 October 2020 and admitted into Sungai Buloh Hospital. Screening of close contacts has identified 16 additional confirmed COVID-19 cases.
As of 25 October 2020, 12 pm, a total of 93 individuals have been screened, of which:
- 17 confirmed COVID-19 cases (5 additional cases)
- 10 individuals tested negative
- 66 individuals awaiting results
The Jernih Cluster
This new cluster involves the Seremban district, Negeri Sembilan. The index cases for this cluster (Cases 24,435 to 24,438) were detected positive for COVID-19 from pre-departure screening before travelling back to their country of origin on 22 October 2020 and admitted into Rembau Hospital. Screening of close contacts has identified 11 additional confirmed COVID-19 cases.
As of 25 October 2020, 12 pm, a total of 76 individuals have been screened, of which:
- 15 confirmed COVID-19 cases (11 additional cases)
- 61 individuals awaiting results
The Seladah Cluster
This new cluster involves the Kuching and Serian districts in Sarawak. The index case for this cluster (Case 24,448) was detected positive for COVID-19 from symptomatic screening on 22 October 2020 and admitted into Sarawak General Hospital. Screening of close contacts has identified six (6) additional confirmed COVID-19 cases.
As of 25 October 2020, 12 pm, a total of 18 individuals have been screened, of which:
- Seven (7) confirmed COVID-19 cases (4 additional cases)
- 4 individuals tested negative
- 7 individuals awaiting results
The Makekar Cluster
This new cluster involves the Johor Bahru and Kulai districts in Johor, the Kemaman, Dungun, Kuala Terengganu and Marang districts in Terengganu and the Klang district in Selangor. The index case for this cluster (Case 23,800) was detected positive for COVID-19 from a workplace screening on 18 October 2020 and admitted into Hulu Terengganu Hospital, Kuala Berang. Screening of close contacts has identified nine (9) additional confirmed COVID-19 cases.
As of 25 October 2020, 12 pm, a total of 132 individuals have been screened, of which:
- 10 confirmed COVID-19 cases (8 additional cases)
- 106 individuals tested negative
- 16 individuals awaiting results
Health Advisory on COVID-19
MOH advices the public to continue to comply to the recommendations and health advisories that are often emphasised. These advisories must be incorporated as the new normal in our daily life, including:
- Avoid the 3Cs: Avoid Crowded places; Confined spaces; and Close conversations.
- Practice the 3Ws: Wash hands frequently with water and soap; Wearing facemasks is now mandatory in public areas (starting from 1 August 2020 as directed by the National Security Council) or highly recommended if symptomatic; Warn self and others for the following, in line with MOH’s advisories:
- Avoid shaking hands or touching others, including bumping parts of the body in lieu of shaking hands
- Practice good coughing and sneezing etiquette
- Seek early treatment if symptomatic
- Stay at home and avoid from visiting others
- Regularly clean and disinfect commonly touched surfaces in common areas
In addition to the SOPs, continue to adhere to THiS as the new normal:
- T: Terms set under the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO)
- Hi: High-risk groups such as children, infants, older adults and the disabled must be protected, and if unwell with symptoms, to seek early treatment
- S: Safe physical distancing is practiced at all times, of at least 1 metre away from others
MOH will continue to monitor the development of the COVID-19 situation, both in the country as well as internationally, based on available information from the World Health Organization (WHO). The public will be continuously updated on the latest information. In addition, MOH will ensure that appropriate preventive and control measures are continuously implemented.
