STATUS TERKINI KES DISAHKAN COVID-19 YANG TELAH PULIH
Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) ingin memaklumkan bahawa pada hari ini, Malaysia mencatatkan bilangan kes pulih COVID-19 sebanyak 491 kes. Ini menjadikan jumlah kumulatif kes yang telah pulih sepenuhnya dari COVID-19 adalah 20,248 kes (65.6 peratus daripada jumlah keseluruhan kes). Pecahan kes yang telah pulih COVID-19 mengikut negeri adalah seperti berikut:
- Sabah (277 kes);
- Selangor (135 kes);
- Negeri Sembilan (25 kes);
- Perak (22 kes);
- Pulau Pinang (12 kes);
- Sarawak (5 kes);
- Johor (4 kes);
- Terengganu (3 kes);
- Pahang (2 kes);
- Melaka (2 kes);
- Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur dan Putrajaya (2 kes); dan
- Kelantan (2 kes).
STATUS TERKINI KES COVID-19 DI MALAYSIA
Dimaklumkan pada hari ini, negeri Sabah mencatatkan sebanyak 466 kes (58.3 peratus) dan negeri-negeri di Lembah Klang pula mencatatkan 170 kes (21.3 peratus) daripada jumlah keseluruhan kes. Keempat-empat negeri ini telah menyumbang sebanyak 636 kes (79.6 peratus) daripada jumlah harian kes positif COVID-19 secara keseluruhan. Kesemua negeri-negeri ini masih berada dalam Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan Bersyarat (PKPB).
Untuk makluman juga, sebanyak 29 kes (3.6 peratus daripada jumlah keseluruhan) berkaitan kluster-kluster penjara dilaporkan pada hari ini yang terdiri daripada Kluster Penjara Reman (20 kes), Kluster Penjara Kepayan (6 kes) dan Kluster Tembok (3 kes).
Secara keseluruhannya, sehingga 30 Oktober 2020 pukul 12:00 tengah hari, sebanyak 799 kes baharu telah dilaporkan menjadikan jumlah kes positif COVID-19 di Malaysia adalah sebanyak 30,889 kes. Manakala, jumlah kes aktif dengan kebolehjangkitan COVID-19 pula adalah 10,392 kes. Kesemua pesakit ini telah diasingkan dan diberi rawatan.
Perincian kes penularan COVID-19 dalam negara adalah seperti berikut:
- Sabah: 466 kes
- 126 kes daripada kluster-kluster, termasuk 70 kes daripada kluster baharu iaitu Kluster Rumah Merah, Kluster Telipok dan Kluster Sembulan;
- 193 kes daripada saringan kontak rapat kes positif COVID-19; dan
- 147 kes daripada lain-lain saringan COVID-19.
- Selangor: 150 kes
- 116 kes daripada kluster-kluster, termasuk 76 kes daripada kluster baharu iaitu Kluster Merpati dan Kluster Astaka;
- 22 kes daripada saringan kontak rapat kes positif COVID-19; dan
- 12 kes daripada lain-lain saringan COVID-19.
- Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan : 65 kes
- 54 kes daripada kluster-kluster, termasuk 11 kes daripada kluster baharu iaitu Kluster Titian; dan
- 11 kes daripada saringan kontak rapat kes positif COVID-19.
- Pulau Pinang : 35 kes
- 29 kes daripada kluster-kluster sedia ada;
- Lima (5) kes daripada saringan kontak rapat kes positif COVID-19; dan
- Satu (1) kes daripada lain-lain saringan COVID-19.
- Negeri Sembilan : 23 kes
- 20 kes daripada kluster-kluster termasuk dua (2) kes daripada kluster baharu iaitu Kluster Gala;
- Satu (1) kes daripada saringan kontak rapat kes positif COVID-19; dan
- Dua (2) kes daripada lain-lain saringan COVID-19.
- Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur : 19 kes
- Lapan (8) kes daripada kluster-kluster sedia ada;
- Lapan (8) kes daripada saringan kontak rapat kes positif COVID-19; dan
- Tiga (3) kes daripada lain-lain saringan COVID-19.
- Sarawak : 16 kes
- Sembilan (9) kes daripada kluster-kluster sedia ada;
- Dua (2) kes Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI); dan
- Lima (5) kes daripada lain-lain saringan COVID-19.
- Perak : 10 kes
- Sembilan (9) kes daripada kluster sedia ada; dan
- Satu (1) kes daripada lain-lain saringan COVID-19.
- Johor : Sembilan (9) kes daripada kluster-kluster, termasuk lima (5) kes daripada kluster baharu iaitu Kluster Meldrum.
- Kedah : Lima (5) kes daripada kluster-kluster sedia ada.
- Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya : Satu (1) kes daripada lain-lain saringan COVID-19.
Sehingga kini, terdapat 90 kes positif COVID-19 yang sedang dirawat di Unit Rawatan Rapi (ICU), di mana 20 kes memerlukan bantuan pernafasan.
Daripada maklumat terkini yang dilaporkan ke Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) Kebangsaan, dukacita dimaklumkan bahawa terdapat pertambahan tiga (3) kes kematian berkaitan COVID-19. Justeru, jumlah kumulatif kes kematian COVID-19 di Malaysia adalah sebanyak 249 kes (0.8 peratus daripada jumlah keseluruhan kes).

LAPAN (8) KLUSTER BAHARU DILAPORKAN HARI INI
KKM ingin memaklumkan bahawa terdapat lapan (8) kluster baharu telah dikenal pasti pada hari ini iaitu;
KLUSTER RUMAH MERAH
Kluster baharu ini melibatkan sebuah Pusat Tahanan Sementara (PTS) di daerah Kota Kinabalu di negeri Sabah. Kes indeks bagi kluster ini (iaitu kes ke-29774) telah dikenal pasti positif COVID-19 hasil saringan individu bergejala pada 28 Oktober 2020. Saringan kontak rapat telah mengesan sebanyak 56 lagi kes positif COVID-19. Kesemua kes menerima rawatan di Blok Isolasi Pusat Tahanan Sementara Menggatal.
Sehingga 30 Oktober 2020, 12 tengah hari, sejumlah 129 individu telah disaring, di mana:
- 57 kes dikesan positif COVID-19 (56 kes baharu); dan
- 72 individu dikesan negatif.
KLUSTER TELIPOK
Kluster baharu ini melibatkan daerah Kota Kinabalu di negeri Sabah. Sebanyak 10 kes bagi kluster ini telah dikenal pasti positif COVID-19 hasil saringan di tempat kerja pada 29 Oktober 2020 dan telah dimasukkan ke Pusat Kuarantin dan Rawatan COVID-19 Berisiko Rendah Bomba, Sepanggar.
Sehingga 30 Oktober 2020, 12 tengah hari, sejumlah 112 individu telah disaring, di mana:
- 10 kes dikesan positif COVID-19 (10 kes baharu); dan
- 102 individu dikesan negatif.
KLUSTER SEMBULAN
Kluster baharu ini melibatkan daerah Kota Kinabalu di negeri Sabah. Kes indeks bagi kluster ini (iaitu kes ke-26238) telah dikenal pasti positif COVID-19 hasil saringan individu bergejala pada 24 Oktober 2020. Saringan kontak rapat telah mengesan sebanyak 11 lagi kes positif COVID-19. Kesemua kes telah dimasukkan ke Pusat Kuarantin dan Rawatan COVID-19 Berisiko Rendah Institut Kemahiran MARA, Sepanggar dan Politeknik Sepanggar.
Sehingga 30 Oktober 2020, 12 tengah hari, sejumlah 99 individu telah disaring, di mana:
- 12 kes dikesan positif COVID-19 (4 kes baharu); dan
- 87 individu dikesan negatif.
KLUSTER MERPATI
Kluster baharu ini melibatkan daerah Sepang, Gombak dan Kuala Langat di negeri Selangor. Sebanyak 45 kes bagi kluster ini telah dikenal pasti positif COVID-19 hasil saringan di tempat kerja pada 29 Oktober 2020. Mereka telah dimasukkan ke Hospital Sungai Buloh.
Sehingga 30 Oktober 2020, 12 tengah hari, sejumlah 116 individu telah disaring, di mana:
- 45 kes dikesan positif COVID-19 (45 kes baharu); dan
- 71 individu dikesan negatif.
KLUSTER ASTAKA
Kluster baharu ini melibatkan daerah Petaling, Hulu Langat dan Kuala Selangor di negeri Selangor. Kes indeks bagi kluster ini (iaitu kes ke-29262) telah dikenal pasti positif COVID-19 hasil saringan individu bergejala pada 27 Oktober 2020. Saringan kontak rapat telah mengesan sebanyak 31 lagi kes positif COVID-19. Kesemua kes telah dimasukkan ke Hospital Sungai Buloh.
Sehingga 30 Oktober 2020, 12 tengah hari, sejumlah 114 individu telah disaring, di mana:
- 32 kes dikesan positif COVID-19 (31 kes baharu); dan
- 82 individu dikesan negatif.
KLUSTER TITIAN
Kluster baharu ini dikenal pasti di Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan. Sebanyak 11 kes telah dikesan positif COVID-19 hasil saringan bersasar terhadap komuniti berisiko tinggi di Kampung Muslim pada 29 Oktober 2020. Kesemua kes telah dimasukkan ke Hospital Labuan.
Sehingga 30 Oktober 2020, 12 tengah hari, sejumlah 464 individu telah disaring, di mana:
- 11 kes dikesan positif COVID-19 (11 kes baharu);
- 40 individu dikesan negatif; dan
- 413 individu masih menunggu keputusan.
KLUSTER GALA
Kluster baharu ini melibatkan daerah Seremban dan Jelebu di Negeri Sembilan. Kes indeks bagi kluster ini (iaitu kes ke-27703) telah dikenal pasti positif COVID-19 hasil saringan petugas kesihatan pada 26 Oktober 2020 dan telah dimasukkan ke Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar. Saringan kontak rapat telah mengesan sebanyak tujuh (7) lagi kes positif COVID-19.
Sehingga 30 Oktober 2020, 12 tengah hari, sejumlah 139 individu telah disaring, di mana:
- Lapan (8) kes dikesan positif COVID-19 (2 kes baharu);
- 98 individu dikesan negatif; dan
- 33 individu masih menunggu keputusan.
KLUSTER MELDRUM
Kluster baharu ini melibatkan daerah Johor Bahru, Kota Tinggi dan Tangkak di negeri Johor. Kes indeks bagi kluster ini (iaitu kes ke-30789) telah dikenal pasti positif COVID-19 hasil saringan individu bergejala pada 29 Oktober 2020. Saringan kontak rapat telah mengesan sebanyak lima (5) lagi kes positif COVID-19. Kesemua kes telah dimasukkan ke Hospital Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom, Johor.
Sehingga 30 Oktober 2020, 12 tengah hari, sejumlah 219 individu telah disaring, di mana:
- Enam (6) kes dikesan positif COVID-19 (5 kes baharu);
- 138 individu dikesan negatif; dan
- 75 individu masih menunggu keputusan.
SITUASI TERKINI KAPASITI KATIL COVID-19
Sehingga 29 Oktober 2020 pukul 10:00 malam, terdapat 44 buah hospital KKM dan 2 buah hospital pengajar di seluruh Malaysia yang menyediakan perkhidmatan untuk pesakit COVID-19. 46 hospital ini menempatkan 3,825 buah katil dan kadar penggunaannya adalah sebanyak 54 peratus. KKM turut menyediakan katil tambahan menerusi pengwujudan Pusat Kuarantin dan Rawatan COVID-19 Berisiko Rendah (PKRC) di seluruh negara di mana sehingga kini terdapat 60 PKRC yang sedang beroperasi dengan kapasiti katil sebanyak 12,235 dan kadar penggunaannya adalah 36 peratus. Dengan ini, bilangan keseluruhan katil untuk rawatan pesakit COVID-19 di hospital dan PKRC di Malaysia adalah 16,060 dengan kadar penggunaannya sebanyak 40 peratus.
Khusus bagi negeri Sabah pula, sehingga 29 Oktober 2020 pukul 10:00 malam, 9 daripada 24 buah hospital KKM di seluruh negeri Sabah telah digunakan sebagai Hospital Hybrid COVID-19 iaitu menyediakan perkhidmatan untuk pesakit COVID-19 dan pada masa yang sama meneruskan perkhidmatan untuk lain-lain perkhidmatan perubatan. Setakat ini 1,007 buah katil untuk pesakit COVID-19 telah disediakan di 9 buah hospital ini dan kadar penggunaan adalah sebanyak 77 peratus. Terdapat 28 PKRC yang sedang beroperasi di seluruh negeri Sabah dengan kapasiti katil sebanyak 7,368 dan kadar penggunaannya adalah 43 peratus. Dengan ini, bilangan keseluruhan katil untuk rawatan pesakit COVID-19 di hospital dan PKRC di negeri Sabah adalah 8,375 dengan kadar penggunaannya sebanyak 47 peratus.
Meskipun terdapat pertambahan kes baharu setiap hari yang dilaporkan, khususnya di negeri Sabah, namun terdapat juga banyak kes-kes discaj dalam jumlah yang banyak dilaporkan setiap hari. Oleh itu, katil yang kosong ini boleh digunakan pula untuk kes-kes baharu. Selain itu, KKM sentiasa menilai situasi semasa dan mempunyai perancangan untuk meningkatkan lagi kapasiti katil sekiranya diperlukan.
NASIHAT KESIHATAN BERKAITAN COVID-19
KKM ingin menasihati orang ramai agar terus patuhi saranan serta nasihat-nasihat kesihatan yang sering ditekankan. Jadikanlah nasihat-nasihat ini satu kebiasaan baharu dalam kehidupan harian:
- Elakkan 3S / 3C : iaitu elakkan kawasan yang sesak (Crowded place), elakkan kawasan yang sempit (Confined space) dan elak sembang atau bertutur dengan jarak yang dekat (Close conversation).
- Amalkan 3W : iaitu kerap mencuci tangan dengan air dan sabun (Wash), memakai alat pelitup muka (facemask) di tempat awam yang telah diwajibkan oleh pihak Majlis Keselamatan Negara (MKN) mulai 1 Ogos 2020 atau jika bergejala (Wear), dan (Warn) iaitu amaran dari KKM yang lebih berkonsep peringatan seperti:
- Elakkan bersalaman / bersentuhan termasuk melagakan mana-mana bahagian tubuh badan sebagai menggantikan cara kebiasaan bersalam;
- Amalkan etika batuk dan bersin;
- Dapatkan rawatan segera jika bergejala;
- Duduk di rumah dan elakkan kunjung-mengunjung;
- Lakukan aktiviti disinfeksi dan pembersihan di kawasan yang kerap disentuh.
Patuhlah kepada S.O.P sebagai normal baharu iaitu:
- S : Syarat-syarat seperti yang ditetapkan di bawah Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan Pemulihan (PKPP);
- O : Orang yang berisiko tinggi seperti kanak-kanak, bayi, warga emas dan orang kurang upaya (OKU) perlu dilindungi, individu tidak sihat dan bergejala dikehendaki segera menjalani pemeriksaan kesihatan;
- P : Penjarakan fizikal (physical distancing) sekurang-kurangnya 1 meter diamalkan pada setiap masa.
KKM akan terus memantau perkembangan kejadian jangkitan di dalam negara, dan juga luar negara melalui maklumat yang diperolehi daripada pihak Pertubuhan Kesihatan Sedunia (WHO). Orang ramai akan sentiasa dimaklumkan sebarang perkembangan terkini mengenainya. Begitu juga, KKM akan memastikan langkah pencegahan dan kawalan yang sewajarnya adalah dilaksanakan secara berterusan.

SITUATION IN MALAYSIA

Current Status of Confirmed COVID-19 Cases Who Have Recovered
The Ministry of Health (MOH) is pleased to inform that today Malaysia reported 491 COVID-19 recovery cases. Therefore, cumulatively, 20,248 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been discharged (65.6% of total cumulative cases). The breakdown of cases that have recovered by state is as follows:
- Sabah (277 cases)
- Selangor (135 cases)
- Negeri Sembilan (25 cases)
- Perak (22 cases)
- Pulau Pinang (12 cases)
- Sarawak (5 cases)
- Johor (4 cases)
- Terengganu (3 cases)
- Pahang (2 cases)
- Melaka (2 cases)
- WP Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya (2 cases)
- Kelantan (2 cases)
Current Situation of COVID-19 in Malaysia
Today Sabah reported 466 cases (58.3%) and the states in the Klang Valley reported 170 cases (21.3%) of the total number of cases. These four states accounted for 636 cases (79.6%) of the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases. All these states are still under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).
A total of 29 cases (3.6% of the total) related to the prison clusters are also reported today i.e. the Penjara Reman Cluster (20 cases), Penjara Kepayan Cluster (6 cases) and the Tembok Cluster (3 cases).
As of 30 October 2020, 12 pm, a total of 799 additional confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported to the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) MOH today. Cumulatively, there are 30,889 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Malaysia. Therefore, there are currently 10,392 active and infective COVID-19 cases. They have all been isolated and given treatment.
The details of the local transmission COVID-19 cases are as follows:
- Sabah: 466 cases
- 126 cases from existing active clusters, including 70 cases from new clusters i.e. Rumah Merah Cluster, Telipok Cluster and Sembulan Cluster.
- 193 cases from screening of close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
- 147 cases from other COVID-19 screenings.
- Selangor: 150 cases
- 116 cases from existing active clusters, including 76 cases from new clusters i.e. Merpati Cluster and Astaka Cluster.
- 22 cases from screening of close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
- 12 cases from other COVID-19 screenings.
- WP Labuan: 65 cases
- 54 cases from existing active clusters, including 11 cases from a new cluster i.e. Titian Cluster.
- 11 cases from screening of close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
- Pulau Pinang: 35 cases
- 29 cases from existing active clusters.
- 5 cases from screening of close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
- 1 case from other COVID-19 screenings.
- Negeri Sembilan: 23 cases
- 20 cases from existing active clusters, including 2 cases from a new cluster i.e. Gala Cluster.
- 1 case from screening of close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
- 2 cases from other COVID-19 screenings.
- Kuala Lumpur: 19 cases
- 8 cases from existing active clusters.
- 8 cases from screening of close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
- 3 cases from other COVID-19 screenings.
- Sarawak: 16 cases
- 9 cases from existing active clusters.
- 2 cases from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) screening.
- 5 cases from other COVID-19 screenings.
- Perak: 10 cases
- 9 cases from existing active clusters.
- 1 case from other COVID-19 screenings.
- Johor: 9 cases from existing active clusters, including 5 cases from a new cluster i.e. Meldrum Cluster.
- Kedah: 5 cases from existing active clusters.
- WP Putrajaya: 1 case from other COVID-19 screenings.
Currently, 90 confirmed COVID-19 cases are receiving treatment in the intensive care units (ICUs), with 20 patients on ventilation support.
Regretfully, three (3) additional COVID-19 deaths were reported to the National CPRC MOH today. Cumulatively, there are now 249 COVID-19 deaths in Malaysia (0.8% of total cumulative cases).

MOH extends its condolences to all their family members.
Eight (8) New Clusters Reported Today
MOH would like to inform that there are eight (8) new clusters have been identified today.
- The Rumah Merah Cluster
This new cluster involves a Temporary Detention Centre in the Kota Kinabalu district, Sabah. The index case for this cluster (Case 29,774) was detected positive for COVID-19 from symptomatic screening on 28 October 2020. Screening of close contacts has identified 56 additional confirmed COVID-19 cases. All these cases are receiving treatment in the Isolation Block of the Menggatal Temporary Detention Centre.
As of 30 October 2020, 12 pm, a total of 129 individuals have been screened, of which:
- 57 confirmed COVID-19 cases (56 additional cases reported today)
- 72 individuals tested negative
- The Telipok Cluster
This new cluster involves the Kota Kinabalu district, Sabah. The 10 confirmed cases in this cluster were detected positive for COVID-19 from a workplace screening on 29 October 2020 and admitted into the Bomba COVID-19 Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centre, Sepanggar.
As of 30 October 2020, 12 pm, a total of 112 individuals have been screened, of which:
- 10 confirmed COVID-19 cases (10 cases reported today)
- 102 individuals tested negative
- The Sembulan Cluster
This new cluster involves the Kota Kinabalu district, Sabah. The index case for this cluster (Case 26,238) was detected positive for COVID-19 from symptomatic screening on 24 October 2020. Screening of close contacts has identified 11 additional confirmed COVID-19 cases. All these cases were admitted into the COVID-19 Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centres in Institut Kemahiran MARA Sepanggar and Politeknik Sepanggar.
As of 30 October 2020, 12 pm, a total of 99 individuals have been screened, of which:
- 12 confirmed COVID-19 cases (4 additional cases)
- 87 individuals tested negative
- The Merpati Cluster
This new cluster involves the Sepang, Gombak and Kuala Langat districts in Selangor. A total of 45 confirmed cases were detected positive for COVID-19 from a workplace screening on 29 October 2020. They were all admitted into Sungai Buloh Hospital.
As of 30 October 2020, 12 pm, a total of 116 individuals have been screened, of which:
- 45 confirmed COVID-19 cases (45 cases reported today)
- 71 individuals awaiting results
- The Astana Cluster
This new cluster involves the Petaling, Hulu Langat and Kuala Selangor districts in Selangor. The index case for this cluster (Case 29,262) was detected positive for COVID-19 from symptomatic screening on 27 October 2020. Screening of close contacts has identified 31 additional confirmed COVID-19 cases. They were all admitted into Sungai Buloh Hospital.
As of 30 October 2020, 12 pm, a total of 114 individuals have been screened, of which:
- 32 confirmed COVID-19 cases (31 additional cases)
- 82 individuals tested negative
- The Titian Cluster
This new cluster was identified in WP Labuan. A total of 11 confirmed cases were detected positive for COVID-19 from targeted screening among high-risk communities in Kampung Muslim on 29 October 2020. They were all admitted into Labuan Hospital.
As of 30 October 2020, 12 pm, a total of 464 individuals have been screened, of which:
- 11 confirmed COVID-19 cases (11 cases reported today)
- 40 individuals tested negative
- 413 individuals awaiting results
- The Gala Cluster
This new cluster involves the Seremban and Jelebu districts in Negeri Sembilan. The index case for this cluster (Case 27,703) was detected positive for COVID-19 from screening of healthcare workers on 26 October 2020 and admitted into the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital. Screening of close contacts has identified seven (7) additional confirmed COVID-19 cases.
As of 30 October 2020, 12 pm, a total of 139 individuals have been screened, of which:
- Eight (8) confirmed COVID-19 cases (2 additional cases)
- 98 individuals tested negative
- 33 individuals awaiting results
- The Meldrum Cluster
This new cluster involves the Johor Bahru, Kota Tinggi and Tangkak districts in Johor. The index case for this cluster (Case 30,789) was detected positive for COVID-19 from symptomatic screening on 29 October 2020. Screening of close contacts has identified five (5) additional confirmed COVID-19 cases. They were all admitted into the Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital, Johor.
As of 30 October 2020, 12 pm, a total of 219 individuals have been screened, of which:
- Six (6) confirmed COVID-19 cases (5 additional cases)
- 138 individuals tested negative
- 75 individuals awaiting results
Current Situation of the Bed Capacity for COVID-19
As of 29 October 2020, 10 pm, there are 44 MOH hospitals and 2 teaching hospitals throughout Malaysia that provide services for COVID-19 patients. These 46 hospitals have 3,825 beds and their bed occupancy rate is at 54%. MOH also provides additional beds through the establishment of QOVID-19 Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centres (PKRC) nationwide; currently there are 60 PKRCs in operations with a capacity of 12,235 beds and the bed occupancy rate is at 36%. Therefore, the total number of beds for the treatment of COVID-19 patients in hospitals and PKRCs in Malaysia is 16,060 beds, with an occupancy rate of 40%.
Specifically for Sabah, until 29 October 2020, 10 pm, 9 out of the 24 MOH hospitals throughout Sabah have been assigned as COVID-19 Hybrid Hospitals which provide services for COVID-19 patients and at the same time continue to serve other medical conditions. To date, 1,007 beds for COVID-19 patients have been provided in these 9 hospitals and the bed occupancy rate is at 77%. There are also 28 PKRCs operating throughout Sabah with a capacity of 7,368 beds and the bed occupancy rate is at 43%. Therefore, the total number of beds for the treatment of COVID-19 patients in hospitals and PKRC in Sabah is 8,375 beds with an occupancy rate of 47%.
Although there is an increase in additional cases reported daily, especially in Sabah, but there are also many discharged cases reported daily as well. Therefore, these empty beds can be used for the additional cases. In addition, MOH continuously assesses the current situation and has plans to further increase the bed capacity if required.
Health Advisory on COVID-19
MOH advices the public to continue to comply to the recommendations and health advisories that are often emphasised. These advisories must be incorporated as the new normal in our daily life, including:
- Avoid the 3Cs: Avoid Crowded places; Confined spaces; and Close conversations.
- Practice the 3Ws: Wash hands frequently with water and soap; Wearing facemasks is now mandatory in public areas (starting from 1 August 2020 as directed by the National Security Council) or highly recommended if symptomatic; Warn self and others for the following, in line with MOH’s advisories:
- Avoid shaking hands or touching others, including bumping parts of the body in lieu of shaking hands
- Practice good coughing and sneezing etiquette
- Seek early treatment if symptomatic
- Stay at home and avoid from visiting others
- Regularly clean and disinfect commonly touched surfaces in common areas
In addition to the SOPs, continue to adhere to THiS as the new normal:
- T: Terms set under the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO)
- Hi: High-risk groups such as children, infants, older adults and the disabled must be protected, and if unwell with symptoms, to seek early treatment
- S: Safe physical distancing is practiced at all times, of at least 1 metre away from others
MOH will continue to monitor the development of the COVID-19 situation, both in the country as well as internationally, based on available information from the World Health Organization (WHO). The public will be continuously updated on the latest information. In addition, MOH will ensure that appropriate preventive and control measures are continuously implemented.
